whoooo! finally back from one week of camp! it was a good one. for me i learnt many new lessons, made new friends, strengthen bonds and saw the side of people you don't usually do. at first when i found out on the first day that i was dorming with my bro, i was quite unhappy, cos its like you see him everyday. and now you see him again. but anyway. i learnt things from him and i guess he did from me too. God's will!
so anyway this is roughly what happened over the six days i was away with no internet connection! lol
9th June:
... slept at 3am cause i was excited abt cant and woke up at 5:45 to get ready. then met uncle steven and aunty michelle to get fetched to church with jan and sis. reached there to realize that i didn't bring my earphones for my iPod. gosh. thankfully got rachel to lend me her's. left for Batu Pahat at 8am and reached there in time for lucnh cos there was a major jam at tuas. after lunch was the ice breakers where we did station games. rounded it up with abit of free time before dinner. after that was singing and the first msg from David Macloed. interesting subjects. but i was so tired during the first two msgs that i was dozing off here and there. ended the day with supper and dorm d.
10th June:
woke up at 7:30am yes, yes i din go for morning exercise. my body clock was super messed up before the camp, so getting the day started at 7+ was a wee bit hard. anw, quick QT and then went for breakfast. and for the next few days it would be singing and the msgs with BS. My BS grp was/is super FUN! haha, enjoyed the daily dicussions, with hilarious results. and i was the only guy till thurs when bryan and lucius came to join me! after lunch was the games at this stadium with alooooot of mosquitoes la. anw, there was danish longball, captains ball and ultimate frisbee! and i got to get my hand on weihong's (church toh weihong, not sch's toh weihong) D40x! wahaha. i was snap happy! haha! back to the hotel for rest, dinner and the first workshop was by uncle Andrew Kwan, on ambitions. then was supper, dorm d and sleep.
11th June:
7:30am again, with the usual morning schedule and the 3rd msg. BS was still as fun. by now you would have realized that im doing alot of condensing, cos im super tired, but i felt like typing abit before i go to sleep. after lunch were the movie screenings on - the forth wise man, the source of love, facing the giants and the way home. din go forany of the movies cos i had to study or rather work on my IAD project which is only half done man. die! did work with danna, john mark, jon boon, tim-o and benben. haha i was quite productive, i guess. played badminton and frisbee with rachel and lydia for awhile before dinner and the second workshop on worship by uncle Kian Huat. went up to share points that the BS group and i discussed, but i was so darn nervous, ok maybe not so much but just the keowledege that you got 200 pairs of eyes looking at you freaked me out a little. the rest of the night, supper, dorm d and sleeeep.
12th June:
7:30 yet again, and now you would have just come to the conclusion that i never did got for one morning exercise. true! but i wanted to go on that day but guess what, it rained. so the usual morning stuff and the 4th msg. BS with the peeps when bryan and lucius came, whahaha, and lunch followed before i went to play soccer and frisbee and, yar thats it. probably swimming too. dinner and singing, before the last workshop by uncle Kuang Cheng on spiritual gifts. and yup you know what happens next. at that point i just began to realize how fast time passes when you're having fun. 4 days gone so fast.
13th June:
last full day of camp was here. oh gosh. and i remember it like it was just yesterday. eh wait, it was yesterday. anw, 7:30 for the last time. singing and prayer before the last camp msg. on the unity and our reconciliation with God. BS and lunch. Camper's Nite prep with the group which i guess in 3 hours, was very productive, and dinner followed. and camper's night came and went like a few minutes. after supper, this time was the camp reflection by the campers. and as it is customary for the last night for youths to stay up late and go crazy, we did just that. 11pm on - matt, linus, lucius, nat chia, amos, darius and i were on a one hour singing spree (which combined with the lack of sleep, gives you a running nose and a bad cough.) while others played frisbee.
14th June:
...past 12am, this almost drunk nutcase caused sortofa mass hysteria among us. so girls had to be escoted back to their dorms. watched the italy vs. romania match and the rest of the night was just plain crazy for jet, brandon, cedric, ly, clara, ben, john mark, seng hean, danna and mua. bidged and taiti-ed alot before it was only left with ly, danna, clara, ben and i. talked for awhile before going back to our dorms. they din sleep and neither did i. i watched 2 movies in the room and took a ten minute snooze before it was time to wake up. had breakfast with the guys and then it was time to go. camp had sadly ended and i slept on the way back to SG in a "rollercoaster" busride. home, i we had to do house work. and now im typing here.
i can't believe i actually typed it out in one sitting. oh well.
CAMP WAS A SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY GREAT CAMP!
